Kachalu chaat recipe is very easy and quick to make. It will be ready in just a few minutes. For making this tangy recipe you have to boil kachalu or colocasia. You may also know it as Taro Root. The best this is that you can eat it during Navratri and during your fasting period. Since it is not fried, you can eat this kachalu ki chaat as a healthy snack. Colocasia chaat is a famous street food of Delhi, India. Taro is rich in fiber, vitamin C, vitamin B6 and vitamin E. It is starch resistant and also contains antioxidants. Moreover it is high in manganese, potassium, copper, phosphorus and folate. It is a great source of vitamins and minerals. Recipe Ingredients

First of all, check if you have all the necessary ingredients for this recipe. Pay attention to the quantities!
  • Kachalu or Taro Root (boiled) :- 2
  • Red Chili Powder :- 1 tsp
  • Salt :- As per taste
  • Jeera Powder (roasted) :- 1 tsp
  • Chaat Masala :- 1 tsp
  • Black Pepper Powder :- 1/2 tsp
  • Green Chili (chopped) :- 2
  • Coriander Leaves :- 1 tbs
  • Tamarind pulp :- 4-5 tsp
  • Lemon :- 1

Recipe Instructions

Next, follow the steps to finalize your dish and finally be able to enjoy it!
  1. At first wash 2 kachalu nicely and boil them. Then after they gets cool, peel them and cut into small pieces in a bowl. Now, add red chili powder and salt as per your taste.

  2. Then, add roasted jeera powder, chaat masala and black pepper powder. Add 2 finely chopped green chilies in it.

  3. Now add coriander leaves, take the tamarind pulp and add 4-5 table spoon in your chaat. Kachalu Ki Chaat is ready. Garnish with some coriander on top of it. At last, squeeze 1 lemon on top of your chaat to make it more tangy.
