Methi Matar Malai

About Methi Matar Malai

Methi Matar Malai is a very popular Indian main course dish. We especially eat this in the Northern region of India. A sweet, rich and creamy curry which you will love. It is a winter season dish which makes our body warm healthy. Methi is a slight bitter in taste. On the other hand, the sweetness of peas and cream makes it a great combination. Therefore it really doesn't taste bitter at all. We make the recipe of methi matar malai from Methi known as Fenugreek leaves. And with Matar (green peas) and Malai, the Indian heavy cream. Cashew nuts too increase the loveliness of this dish. You can try some more of my healthy dishes such as Zucchini Fritters. You can add Methi in many recipes like Aloo methi and Methi paratha. While adding it in this recipe will surely please your senses. It tastes wonderful because the recipe of methi mutter malai has a beautiful flavor when it binds with the flavor of cream (malai).

Benefits of Fenugreek

Methi (fenugreek) as the main ingredient has a lot of health benefits. Fenugreek leaves contains vitamins such as Vitamin C, Thiamine (B1), Vitamin B6. And minerals like Calcium, Manganese, Iron, Magnesium, Phosphorus, Potassium, Sodium and Zinc. It helps in lowering the cholesterol, risk of cardiovascular diseases, blood sugar levels and controls diabetes. It also reduces risk of cancer, improves the digestive system and many more good benefits. Many diabetic patients in India usually eat fenugreek seeds for better health. This methi matar malai recipe serves best with tandoori roti and naan. And it goes really well with chapati, paratha and jeera rice. It is a perfect gravy recipe you can have with your kids, friends, or families. Trust me you can make it even better than the restaurant's fenugreek recipe.
