Firstly, wash and soak the kala chana (black chickpea) for overnight. After that boil some water in a cooker. Add the soaked chana and cook it for about 30 minutes. Now separate the boiled chana in water. Heat some oil in a pan.
Add hing, ginger and garlic paste and saute it for a minute. Then add the water of boiled chana which you separated. And add the tomato puree.
Mix it. Then add the salt, red chili powder, roasted cumin powder and garam masala in it. Mix all the spices well and cook it for about 5 minutes.
Then mash the boiled chana and add it in that mixture. Cook it for almost 2 minutes. You will get a lovely aroma. Garnish your Kala Chana Soup with chopped coriander leaves and serve it hot.
